Training advertisement Empowerment of women and youth through capacity building trainings toward self-reliance and leadership.
This is a 4-month capacity building/training program jointly organized by PDRC and Amina Abdi Warsame – a Rotary Peace Fellow and a student of peace and conflict resolution at Makerere University.
The project puts more focus on the capacity building of women and youth who are socially and economically disadvantaged to develop essential leadership skills and competences needed in todays’ ever-changing labor market. The program’s first phase targets thirty (30) young female professionals who have graduated from universities or in the final semester but are not yet employed.
The purpose of the 4-months capacity building training is to create a sustainable change for the community and reduce poverty, while it is specifically designed to; improve these young female professionals’ leadership skills and excel in job interviews, and show how women can inspire and empower others.
The training program will run for a period of 4 months, starting from August to November 2021, and a face-to-face two-day training classes will be conducted at the PDRC training hall each week with both theory and practical lessons, with a follow up of motivational talks in every two weeks.
The 4 months is aimed to prepare the graduates for a competitive job application process and prepare them for more technical interviews as well as building their confidence in public speaking and managerial roles.
